Japanese Factory Safety Signs: Quick Reference
A three-page handbook for newcomers to Japanese factories or to workshops producing for Japanese customers. It starts with reading signs by colour and shape before you can read the words (prohibition, mandatory, warning, safe condition, fire equipment) and the three signal words 危険, 警告 and 注意. It then covers ten core signs such as 立入禁止, 高電圧, 火気厳禁, 点検中 and 非常停止, emergency signs, and what to do the moment you see them. The second half explains how Japanese sites practise proactive safety: KY hazard prediction, near-miss (ヒヤリハット) reporting, pointing and calling, 5S, four-round KYT, protective equipment and the LOTO rule, with Japanese phrases worth memorising and a first-day checklist. An A3 one-page poster for the shop floor is included.
