Machine Design Checklist Before Releasing a Drawing
A three-page handout for design engineers and drawing reviewers before a drawing moves to production release. Four opening tables frame the review: five gates checked in order of risk (function and assembly interface; datum, dimensions and tolerance; manufacturability and inspection; material, treatment and surface; drawing management and release), the three review types that should not be merged into one meeting (concept, manufacturability, release) with who must attend and when, the evidence each review must bring, and the seven parts of a release package with what happens when each is missing. Then four tick-in-the-room checklist groups totalling thirty-eight items: function and assembly interface, geometry and specification, manufacturing and material and inspection, and management and the final release gate. It closes with three red-team questions before sign-off.
